Independence Day

Going "home" for the 4th of July has become somewhat of a tradition for me. There is something about a Small Town 4th that makes the day even more enjoyable...the slower pace, the picnics, the small town carnivals, the baseball games, the parades, and families coming together.

Unfortunately, being the hedonistic person that I am...I did not take any pictures of the July 4th festivities..but only of these lovely girls decked out in their Janie and Jack Patchwork dresses. I think I need to step outside of myself next year and pay attention to others...and I have a whole year to practice!

Speaking of stepping outside of my OCD, scheduled, control-freak life...I even let the girls stay up until 10pm to watch the fireworks! Watching their excitement made it all worth my sacrifice. That they still woke-up at 6:30 the next morning did not.

Oh, wait - I did take pictures of something besides my girls...see these cute boys..they are my nephews! I will post more about them this week as I get all of my pictures edited. Can I just say that they are the most amazing, loving, sweet, handsome, kind, patient, smart, giving, talented and just plain delightful boys you would ever want to meet. My girls are just positively enamored with them..and wish that we could see them more often.

I hope you all had a delightful 4th of July celebration with family and friends!

Glad you had fun! Catching up with family is worth the travel and the super-tired kids. They will have some nice memories(and you too!).
