Eloise for President...

Just sharing a few conversations from our house this week...

God Bless America...
Last Sunday we were watching Meet the Press reruns in honor or Mr. Russert. They were showing an interview with George W. from 2004. After several minutes Eloise starts telling Esther who this man is...and about several of the other presidents she learned about at preschool this year and what they did. (yes, if your kids don't know must of the presidents by age 4, they are so behind these day...) After Eloise told us what she knew, she paused and said "hey mom, I just realized that every president that we have ever had has been a man. Why haven't their been any woman presidents? I think a mom would do a really good job...I don't think it's fair that they haven't had their turn yet?" I told her that perhaps she could be president some day. She said at this point she would still rather be a baker and drive and ice cream truck.

We went back to watching George W. and then a few minutes later, Esther looks at me with complete seriousness on her face and says "Mom, I don't understand this man, what language is he speaking, because it doesn't sound like English." I guess my influence on them is bigger than I think!

The Human Body
Eloise was whispering something to Esther while we were eating lunch a few days ago. Esther kept saying "I can't hear you Ewoise" - to which Eloise finally responded.."well, Esther it is because normally I would use my throat to talk, but today I am using my esophagus. In fact, we have 206 bones...but today I am only planning on using 53."

Sisterly Love
On Friday night, the ice cream truck drove past our house and we had just sat down for dinner. We get ice cream treats from him most times he comes, but that night I had already bought Popsicles and didn't want to interrupt dinner to run out there. Eloise started having a fit that we didn't get anything..and kept going on and on...and I kept getting angrier and angrier. Pretty soon Esther looks at me and says calmly.."it's okay mommy, let's just sell her to another family."

rofl! They sound like funny girls!

And I'm curious now - which 53 bones did she plan on using?

Some days I've been tempted to sell my kiddos off, too! ;)

I'd definitely vote for Eloise!

i don't think she's the only one who wonders what language GWB is speaking.

it's part of his strateeegery to keep us guessing, ya know.
