5 A.M. is my running time, my coffee time, my computer time, my quiet time.
Now I have company. Company who sings and gurgles and coos and demands constant attention.
She cannot run with me, she doesn't drink coffee and she is jealous of my computer like the cat is of her. Mainly she is not quiet.
When my mom was a young, new mother of 20, her first baby woke-up by 5 A.M. every morning and she told me stories of getting up with him, putting him in the playpen(baby cage) with his toys and then snoozing off and on upon the couch nearby.
I have no need to sleep, I just want to plop her on the floor so I can go running or selfishly read some blogs. She is much too demanding for that.

You are too stinkin' funny! And, these pics of Astrid are killer. But see~ she is yawning. Go back to bed, dear girl, so your mom can have some 'me' time. She needs it, she really does. Sigh... yes, agree, Matt Lauer is a hunk. Do people say 'hunk' anymore? I don't think so. Anyway, I love your blog. You rock.
you need a baby cage-chemical and lead free, of course...
My baby is jealous of the computer too... I can't imagine why...
The 1st picture of Astrid in her bonnet looks exactly like you... I can even see the attitude... "Yeah... so I'm awake... what are we gonna do?... I'm waiting..."
Love it...
If one of my children rose at 5am, they'd have to fend for themselves. That's just insanity.
Still in awe of your early rising ways,
Heather
OMG... Matt Lauer = Morning Porn!!!! Dying laughing over here! You and I are two peas in a pod!!!
It would be so hard for me to resent that beautiful girl, but she isn't mine and she isn't waking me up each morning!
I am with you on needing my early morning personal time, and these days, my oldest will not give it to me. She is up by 6 at the latest each morning, and she talks all.the.time. She is already in full-blown chat mode when I find her each morning.
