Lice Cuts...

We are digging out here. The lice are gone(hopefully) - no sightings for 4 days now. I am still doing 6 loads of laundry a day, spraying furniture, vacuuming twice per day, changing bedding daily, three daily hair checks and no one is allowed on the furniture.

I believe my diligence will continue for the next week. I do not want them back.

I love my girls with long hair. I never wanted to force a cut upon them. Lice made it unavoidable.

Now I love their short hair and I hope they do to. And they forgive me?

I have wine now. I can breathe again. I even took time to start prepping Esther's delayed birthday party....making the party hats, linens and flowers.

I am hopeful that this will be a much better week.

Any week lice free is a better week.

Don't ever get lice. Ever.
xoxo,t

Perfect timing for shorter hair, warm weather's just around the corner you know ;-)

They look wonderful, I hope the gray cloud over your house move next door to the boutique party-dress wrecking neighbor.

conveniently for you, your daughters are simply beautiful with short OR long hair. so the lice have just NOT won on that front.

The girls look SO cute with their hair cuts!
You have me completely scared to death of ever getting lice here, I don't know that I have the stamina for the battle!
Hoping you have a great, lice-free week!

Sallabit Mum,
don't go too crazy cleaning...the lice can't live more than 48 hours without a human host and they can't walk very well when they are not on a hair shaft.

Instead, vacuum the rooms of the affected children and change the pillow daily for a week. or vacuum the pillow daily for a week. vacuum the car seats once also.

I blog on getting rid of lice at http://pragmaticmom.com. see black navigation bar with entry: lice. We had it twice and it's a pain but don't kill yourself cleaning...no need.

i also suggest the robi comb which you might want in your arsenal for future lice checks.

good luck! it will be over soon!

The new cuts are lovely. Remember, it is hair. It grows. Unless, of course, it is on the head of my 2 year old. I think she will never have hair past her ears. :)

All I have to say is GOD BLESS YOU! Natalie got a note home earlier this year saying there had been a case of lice in 1st grade (not in her class, though) and we did some frantic hair checking but thankfully no lice were ever found. I got all freaked out just thinking about it. Oh, and your girls are A-freakin'-dorable in their new short 'dos.
