If I am dead before they marry...

....will you please let them know that I put on great 5 year old birthdays? And I will try my best for a sweet 16 and a proper graduation party.

Jed often asks me why we don't entertain more. Is it because I am painfully shy - yes..because I hate to clean my house - yes..but mainly because I am so anal retentive to every flipping detail, that I wear myself out before the party even starts, and when the guests arrive, I would rather hide in the bathroom.

Can you tell we eloped to get married?

As the party was starting on Saturday, Jed said that Kristi and I should start our own birthday party planning service - like a wedding consultant for the potty training sect. Sure, let me get right on that. Since I was falling asleep by 6pm that night from pure mental and physical exhaustion, evidently this isn't my gig. If I had a business like that I would either die from a heart attack, be committed to a mental institution or become a raging alcoholic. Seriously. I would have to be paid an obscene amount of money to do that every weekend to be able to afford really good wine for myself. So basically I think that this business would have to be named "Two Drunk and Heavily Medicated Ladies Children's Parties" ...so perhaps we would not have much business after all...and then how would I buy my wine?

Now who SHOULD start their own 2nd business is Mike. If he ever retires from his 1st successful business, he should become a videographer. He is Kristi's other half, and he helped me learn how to turn on and focus my camera, and attempt to take good pictures. Mike quietly joined the party yesterday and silently taped here and there - and seriously I do not think the girls even noticed him - that is how good he is.

When he sent me this yesterday, I sobbed and sobbed. THIS is why I throw a party for my girls. THIS is the feeling I was trying to capture.

Now we have this to treasure forever. Thank you, Mike.

xoxo,t

Exquisite! My favorite parts~ Esther laughing and playing with the guests, you pulling her hair back as she blew out the candles, and her aDORable smile at the very end. Also, the shots of Eloise eating her cupcake and wiping her face with the napkin (such good manners). And, the other little guest eating her magic wand cookie. And, the girls coloring the castle... oh my, great party. Now, put up your feet and rest until the next one. I'm always soo happy when a b-day party is done for another year. Too much pressure. You are a great party planner!

Ohmygoodness, that was utterly fantastic! Wow! Looks like the BEST party and the joy in Esther's expressions is clear! You holding back Esther's hair while she blew out the candles made me cry, what a sweet, tender moment. What a wonderful, wonderful gift!

How lucky are you that those exquisite creatures call you "mom"? How lucky are they to have you to make them pink heart fudge and to throw elaborate tea parties for their dream birthday parties and to hold back their hair with love in your hands? There is so much beauty in that three minutes it is almost too much.

Love you.

Rachelle - little Mara eating that magic wand cookie is by far my favorite part. My word how magical is that!

*Sniffle Sniffle*...beautiful, the part that got me was the pair of adult female hands (I assume they were yours and don't tell me if they weren't) that so lovingly held back Ester's hair as she blew out the candles. Tenderly making sure she was safe while she was having the time of her life and didn't have time for such concerns. A treasure indeed.

I was doing fine thinking I wouldn't cry until the part with the hair and the candles. It is such a perfect silent mom moment, and one that shows love and adoration for your sweet girl. The video is exquisite. A masterpiece.

My favorite part was Mama's hands carefully holding Esther's hair back while blowing out the candles... and then that grin that she gives as she looks out over her party! What an awesome gift for your daughter!

Seriously too adorable and perfect. You are amazing and that video makes me want to plan a fairy tale party. Do you think Little Lion would mind? :D

Tell me about that castle. Did you MAKE that? If so, I just fainted.
