I decided that Jed needed to start a tradition of taking his girls out on a date every Christmas.
This year, I decided it should be the Nutcracker.
He mentioned that Motocross was in town.
I told him the girls didn't own Levi's jeans, or sweatshirts with hoods and kangaroo pockets, or white tennis shoes.
Not to be disrespectful to those who do.
He asked if he could buy them their first motorcycles this year - you know for under the tree.
Esther said "as long as it is pink and I can wear my tutu."
As long as she doesn't end up in a future sexy motorcycle magazine ad, that is fine with me.
Jed is the dad to girly-girls, so he can embrace it and endure the Nutcracker at Christmas, pink in their closets and Angelina on TV.
He just needs to know how important it is to spoil his girls sometime.
Well, all of the time.

Tracy, those pictures are great. I hardly recognized Jed, all dressed up! And a wonderful tradition has begun...
Prince Charming with his princesses, truly. And aren't you smart for dreaming up this tradition...what mom doesn't need a few hours at home while the rest of her family is gone?
Tracy....looooove your first image! My dad always took my two sisters and I out to lunch every Christmas Eve. We always went to the same place, The Des Moines Club, and even had the same waitress. We wrapped up our day by shopping downtown for our mom. (And as tradition she always got nasty lotion and bubble bath from Younkers, this REALLY cracks me up...think Bath and Body with more waxy grossness in the bottle) It is a memory I cherish deeply!
Aw, this is adorable! We have talked about starting Father Daughter date nights, but the idea of a special Christmas date is fantastic! I will probably steal this next year if you don't mind...thanks for sharing!
GORGEOUS photos!

I loved this post! The girls love their Daddy and a speical day now and then will always be remembered. These are the times that will be important. Great pictures.
Esther really looks like her dad. I do not think I'd noticed this so much before in previous pics you've posted, but I can totally see it in these!
YOU are a great photographer. I need to learn to relax and quit trying to make people pose and smile. Your photos really inspire me. And, those matching pink coats...whoa. Love them. And, the husband is pretty darn cute in that blue shirt. Maybe I do want to switch after all... Bahahaha. ;o)
Love those MB coats, my younger one has a gray version waiting in her closet.
The first pic is gorgeous
