Oh just go Fly a Kite...

Literally.
This past weekend, the wind was nearly perfect for kite flying...a sport the girls had yet to try. I cannot begin to tell you the peace, love, joy and just complete bliss I felt watching their little faces light-up as they watched their kites go high in the sky. Holding so tight onto that string was the most important thing in the world at that moment, and I know we could have just stood there for hours - completely silent - just watching and wondering at the beauty of a kite flying in the wind.

Many years ago, when pondering why people have kids...one of my first thoughts was "well, to keep you young and allow you to be a kid yourself again." Perhaps if I were alone in that field on Sunday flying my kite by myself...it would've seemed a bit silly for a 39 year-old to be flying a little smiley face kite...lost in my own thoughts....but for a 39 year old mom, it was the best feeling in the world. Truly a gift. So, like I said...Go Fly a Kite!
