Told you So...

See..this is the respect I get for being an injured and helpless man. I woke up from my 4th afternoon nap with jewelry on. Not cool at all.

Things that Make Me Laugh...

Having a good laugh is healthy and fun. Sometimes I feel like I don't laugh enough..so when something really makes me just giggle..I usually have to own it. Well, not people that make me laugh..I can't buy them and set them on my couch and ask them to tell me jokes all day...I just wouldn't do that..and I really don't think they would come home with me either.
A few weeks back, Kristi and I went to a new fabric store and they had many politically-incorrect needlepoint kits for sale. I stood there and read each one..the next more funny than the previous, and just laughed like a teenager reading these hilarious sayings. Except I know I am not a teenager, as I think I peed myself a bit whilst laughing so hard.
Anyway, fast forward to this week and I went into Kristi's favorite store(without her...cuz she was just too busy), and as I was paying for my items I started reading the wall of magnets..and again, each one I read make me laugh harder than the previous one. So I bought a few, yes I spent $3.95 EACH for a magnet. But, I am going to stick them here and there around the house, so I can give myself a chuckle now and then..and if I happen to pee myself a bit..I know I am close to a bathroom.

Enjoy, t.
(I bought this one for Jed...hehehehe)

Cherish the Time...

Being 3 is hard..well, heck being 39 is hard. But I think that being 3 is very hard. With both of my girls..the 2's were a breeze..but 3 is hard..especially 3.5.

They know too much, they think they can do everything, they are starting to really assert their independence, but yet their bodies still can't do everything they think they can do..and the day turns into many episodes of frustrations and tears.
Sometimes, I feel as if our entire day is focused around this process...that everything is a struggle. How do I just make my baby laugh instead of cry? What can she do that will make her feel proud and accomplished instead of defeated and frustrated.

Sometimes I feel like crying myself...as the rough moments turn into rough days and these rough days turn into rough weeks.

..and then I start wishing the days away...wanting it just to be bed time as I don't know how to do it anymore..and wishing she would just turn 4 so maybe we can start on a smoother path. Why do we wish the hard days away when they are little..how do I start cherishing the hard days and the good days when they are little, as I know we will never get them back.
On really tough days...I play this video it seems over and over and try to just laugh through her tears and just try to hold her and let her know that I am here for her, and that I know being 3 is hard..but she and I will get through it..and cherish this time we have, and hopefully remember the good times mainly, while always remembering that the days are long, but the years are short.
Today I will hug my "temper trantrumming" 3 year old instead of walking away...today I will find things she CAN do on her own without frustration...today she will feel proud and accomplished..today she will remember for being such a good day to be 3. Today will be a very long, yet happy day, and I will miss her when I finally kiss her goodnight.

I have entered another dimension..

I am not a nerd, not a geek, not a techo-person, not an innovator, not really anything when it comes to technology. I have never owned a portable music player, anything considered a gadget, I am seriously lacking in skills when it comes to the computer. If I have an issue, I just close the computer and silently cry and stroke it and hope it comes back to life..and then call in my IT consultant(Jed) to fix it for me. I don't really know how to use the T.V., DVD, VCR..I hope my car never gets GPS cuz I have never been lost and GPS is a product purely designed for men - as they DO get lost, and I don't need it.

I am not a gadget girl..my life is simple..my cell phone is circa 2002 and it works just fine, darn it.

...but on Thursday, I picked up this baby...I have named her Carolle(the French spelling and pronunciation), because she makes me feel all sexy and cool and with-it and just wow....

Can I just tell you, that within 12 hours I am so deep in techo-land-love that I am a convert. Technology is a wonderful thing. I was checking my email at red lights, shopping at Amazon.com at the playground, and booking Matilda Jane Shows while gardening(okay that part is made up - you know I don't garden).

Life is good!
